Educators  have hundreds of career options beyond the school systems and typical K-12 professions.

We're NOT talking about tutoring, social work, retail, real estate, MLM Sales or a college professor, etc. Although noble professions, you have so many MORE options.

Countless education careers within the private industry (outside of the school systems) with salaries from

    $60,000 to $210,000+

on the job market RIGHT NOW.

Careers that offer a work-life balance.

There are also education careers within the private industry where you can still impact young lives without being an employee of the school system,

if that remains an interest of yours.

If NOT, there are hundreds of education occupations and other careers that are NOT K-12

related which are a great fit for countless classroom,

    school and district-level K-12 professionals.

Incredible careers are already within your reach.

Careers that do NOT require earning additional degrees or certifications.

But, the job search and hiring process is different when seeking

careers outside of our school systems.

Knowing how to effectively navigate it

    can be the

    difference between

    SUCCESS and FAILURE.

A GREAT new career or a MEDIOCRE one.

Job Search Game has Changed_Broils Consulting Group.png

The private sector job market and hiring process differs from our school systems. As a result, millions of educators get stuck in a career that is no longer the best fit OR they are steered toward narrow career paths: tutors, college professor, sales, instructional or curriculum designer...

    Sound familiar?

Sure you can land a job without improving private industry job search and career transition readiness (CTR) skills, but you deserve more than those typical career paths. You are worthy of transitioning to high-levels.

Are you truly career transition ready?

    Did you know that:

Nearly 60% of job openings are hidden or unadvertised to the general public.

Do you know how and where to find them?

If you apply in these 5 months of the year, your job hunt will take much longer.

Are you aware of which ones?

Did you know that most hiring managers spend about 10 to 15 SECONDS scanning your resume to determine if they will read it further?

Nearly 70% of resumes are rejected for each job vacancy, due to a few common errors, etc.

    (Source: LinkedIn, Top Resume)

Does your resume meet private industry specifications?

Can it bypass an ATS (Applicant Tracking System: those resume screening bots)?

There are 6 essential steps to an effective career transition, we've listed them below.

Educators are unequivocally talented and have a vast skillset

but degrees and credentials are not the only things needed to land a great career beyond the school systems.

Yes, the job search game has changed and is vastly different from our school systems,

but it can be effectively navigated by implementing a few key strategies.

Don't let your current career transition and job-search skills become a barrier

that prevents you from discovering that new dream job or incredible consulting opportunity.

    It's really not rocket science.

It's a straight forward process with 6 key steps

BUT the end-to-end job search cycle is vastly different from

My skills are indeed valuable and transferable.

No other program I have come across is as all encompassing as Broils Consulting Group's is

(most focus on transitioning into instructional design ONLY,

but not everybody wants to do instructional design).

Educators struggle bus through transitioning because the resources are scarce and low quality while paying through the nose for a service that doesn't fill the needs of ALL educators fully...

[However] Broils Consulting Group focuses on helping clients with finding their fit across multiple types of work [occupations and industries] versus just one field,

    Huzzah, I got the job!

Educator Resume Makeovers That Perform in the Private Industry

Marketing Your Talent and Professional Brand  With a Strong

    Resume

    Packaged to Perfection

Have you ever found a job opening on one of those jobs website that was a great fit, one for which you were highly qualified, you applied, then waited, and waited but NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE?

Ghosted! Blame it on the ATS (Applicant Tracking System)! There a few key things that your resume should contain to make it more ATS-friendly.

We all know that the content & quality of a resume often determines whether you will get the interview.

Human Resources and Hiring Managers initially spend 20 seconds or less scanning your resume to decide if they will read it further.

The resumes that we use in the school system must be modified to get the attention that it deserves within the private industry.

Many companies also use ATS Systems to screen applicants.

What is an ATS? Think of it as a ROBOT that screens your online application and resume based on a company's set criteria. It searches for keywords that match the criteria.

If your online application and resume match a predetermined percentage it is then forwarded to an actual person for review.

If not, your application and resume are filed away regardless of your qualifications and Robots make mistakes. Don't fret, there are a few simple strategies to prevail against the ATS.

Whether you have a PhD, CAGS,  M.Ed. or a B.A., a resume that does not align with private industry specifications will STOP your progress.

You'll also have competition from other applicants and your resume may be one of many.

So, how does your resume set you apart from the other applicants?

Does it grab the reader's attention right away yet conform to professional standards minus those colorful resume templates?

Does it convey the wealth of your experience and accomplishments yet with specificity and few words?

Remember you have 20 seconds or less to grab their attention.

That's why including a Professional Branding Statement on your resume is key.

What is a professional branding statement?

It is composed of key phrases and bullet points used as a mechanism to market yourself. It provides the prospective employer with a quick overview of your value and replaces that once-popular Career Objective Statement (which is now obsolete).

    HELP IS ON THE WAY:

In this blended learning module, you'll learn quick & easy strategies for crafting your branding statement and creating a new resume or making over your current resume into a masterpiece that employers will notice!

You will begin with a short ONLINE self-directed tutorial, where we walk you through the key components of creating a winning resume, providing exemplars throughout the way.

Followed by a  "Live" Online Session led by Shelly (founder of Broils Consulting Group).

    You will learn how to:

    • Create an amazing resume that can make an impactful first impression

    • Construct the key components and sections of a  21st-century resume

    • Market yourself with a strong personal branding statement which sets you apart from the competition

    • Write strong and succinct job experience descriptions with action verbs

    • Use data in specific sections of your resume to influence Hiring Managers

    • Incorporate keywords and implementation strategies to beat the ATS

    • Customize your resume for each job vacancy quickly, etc.

    • Design an aesthetically impressive and professional resume respected by employers

What educators are saying about us...

The Broils Consulting Group is one of the most effective and competent businesses I have encountered. I originally started with BCG by attending a webinar and then sought them out for their resume and cover letter services.

Within one day* of submitting the new resume and cover letter on a job application, I received an invitation for an interview.

Moreover, Shelly Broils conducts herself in a way that shows she truly cares whether her clients are making progress in their career change. She follows up, asks how you are doing, and goes above and beyond what a consultant is required to do. What makes a good business is an excellent product/service in addition to superior customer service, and that is exactly what Broils Consulting Group is made of!

Cheryl (former Chicago Educator - now Manager for a leading Education Company)

Note: One day is not the norm for getting an interview after applying. This time may vary per individual.

Broils Consulting Group worked with me and helped me improve my

    job-seeking and interview skills.

Shelly and her associates will help craft an outstanding resume that will stand out above your competition.

Most of all through working with Shelly, I learned that I do have a valuable skill set that is appreciated and respected outside of the classroom.

I was able to find employment .. even before the completion of my work with them!

I highly recommend making the investment, if you're looking to leave ...

and want to do it successfully.

Patrick, (Retired Florida Educator) HIRED  as a Consultant out of 60 other applicants

I learned so many things that I wasn't aware of.

    I  received a job offer

and I have you to thank for this!
